Blue Lagoon Cruise Fiji and Captain Cook Cruises both offer three to seven day trips through the northern Mamanuca Group and along the exquisite and remote Yasawa chain of islands. These small ship cruises are extremely well co-ordinated and cruise along the pristine coastlines of a dozen or so small islands with very little open water to travel across. The cruises anchor in picturesque bays for the night or alongside traditional fishing villages, to whom they pay for the privilege, thus spreading the tourist dollar.
These cruises offer excellent snorkelling and swimming in turquoise lagoons and relaxing on secluded beaches. The cruises also offer the opportunity to experience traditional Fijian life. Trips include village visits where you can interact with the local people, participate in yaqona ceremonies and watch traditional dance performances. Cruise holidays in Fiji are a great way to see parts of the islands where there is little tourist development and gives an insight into the local people and their lifestyles. Blue Lagoon Cruise Fiji offers wedding packages and specialist scuba diving trips aimed at couples where one party dives and the other doesn't, as well as twice yearly historical tours around the Fiji group.
Beachcomber Cruises offers day cruises on its schooner, the Tui Tai, for a day of activities on Beachcomber Island Resort. The Whales Tale is another classical schooner which limits guests to just a handful and offers complimentary alcoholic drinks all day long for an intimate and boozy day out. Day and half day cruises by fast catamaran are also available to several island resorts in the Mamanuca Group including Malolo Island and Mana Island. Most cruises depart from Denarau Island near Nadi at 9am and 12pm returning 3pm and 5pm and include complimentary hotel pick-up.
