Fiji Wedding Guide

Fiji weddings are the stuff of dreams. The islands are marketed as one of the finest romantic destinations in the world. There are hundreds of secluded palm-fringed beaches for you to spend a peaceful day alone; tiny uninhabited coral islands to enjoy a picnic and lots of small intimate resorts with beachside thatch bungalows scattered around the islands. And there's lots to do for the more active couple from getting married whilst scuba diving on a coral reef to exploring the tropical rainforest.
Many resorts offer weddings with packages including a minister or celebrant, assistance in obtaining a marriage license, flowers and leis, champagne and a candle lit dinner. There are no specialist wedding photography / video services and don't expect fantastic images from local professional photographers - often the resort staff will take the pictures for you using your own camera with just as good results.

Fiji Wedding Information
A license is required to marry in Fiji. These are obtainable within one working day from the Fiji Registry at either Nadi, Suva, Lautoka, Savusavu or Somosomo (Taveuni). Cost approximately F$20, valid 21 days.
What You Need to Bring
* Passports
* Original birth certificates
* Decree Absolute (divorce papers) if relevant
* Officially witnessed consent of your father if you are under 21
* Death certificate of deceased former spouse * For Catholic weddings, a letter of Freedom sent 2-3 months in advance to the Fijian Priest along with Baptism Certificates.
